A look at the two teams that will be facing off in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day for the right to move on in the College Football Playoff.

The Rose Bowl is a staple of New Year’s Day in college football and it will be once again this season. Although, this time, the Granddaddy Of ‘Em All has been given a little more significance, if you could even believe that was possible.

Under the new format this season the Rose Bowl is a part of the first ever College Football Playoff. The famed stadium in Pasasdena will serve as the site of one of the semifinal games, with the winner heading off to Dallas for the right to play for it all.

This year’s Rose Bowl will be televised on ESPN and is slated for a 5:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Jan. 1. It will feature the No. 1 and the No. 4 teams in the nation.

With that being said, the Rose Bowl this year will feature a match up between the Oregon Ducks and the Florida State Seminoles, a match up that people have been looking forward to for a while. It’s Mariota vs Winston now.

This should be a fun one to watch.
