Nick Saban Eats Gator Tail To Convince Top Recruit To Play For Him
Alabama head coach Nick Saban enjoyed a Bayou culinary favorite, alligator tail, for the first time while visiting top high school recruit in Florida.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban might have found a new favorite food, and it embodies his style of coaching as he technically ate one of his opponents.

According to a young recruit’s twitter account, Saban was apparently visiting the Bayou down in Florida to visit five-star defensive end CeCe Jeffereson. In a move that is probably a troll on the Florida Gators, Saban devoured some gator tail as a meal with CeCe Jefferson, which was a pretty powerful recruiting tool to say the player should come to Alabama and not a school Saban literally ate for lunch.
The young recruit tweeted about the coach’s visit and the meal they shared.
CeCe Jefferson is the No. 2 ranked defensive end in the country and the number 13 ranked player overall according to Rivals. Alabama coaches were scouting down in Florida, and coach Saban decided to visit Jefferson personally.
There might be a bit of subtext to Saban’s visit, however. Jefferson is also being recruited, and is interested in, the Florida Gators. Perhaps there was a bit of symbolism in the coach’s decision to eat gator tail with the young recruit.
Also, allowing Jefferson to take a picture and tweet about the visit and their choice of entree, this could be one of the sneakiest troll jobs by Saban on the Florida Gators.
Que the ‘at ‘Bama, we eat gator tail for breakfast’ quotes.
