Jacksonville Jaguars Will Ta’ufo’ou Pays Price On Fake Punt (Video)
By Phil Watson
The Jacksonville Jaguars caught the Baltimore Ravens with some trickery on a fake punt, but Will Ta’ufo’ou paid the price for the Jags’ deception.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are playing the Baltimore Ravens much more closely Sunday than anyone would have expected.
And at 2-11 with nothing to lose, the Jaguars are rolling the dice.
Facing a fourth-and-3 at their own 27-yard line, Jacksonville sent the punt team out onto the field.
But instead of a kick, they did this:
It was the first career pass attempt for Jacksonville punter Bryan Anger and it went for 19 yards and a first down to backup running back Will Ta’ufo’ou, who serves as Anger’s protector on special teams.

Ta’ufo’ou rambled for the first down, but paid the price when he was lit up by rookie linebacker Zach Orr.
Ta’ufo’ou is listed at 253 pounds, so it took a serious shot from the 247-pound Orr to rock him back like that.
The Jags have gotten four field goals from Josh Scobee and trail the Ravens 17-12 at the end of the third quarter after leading 12-10 at halftime.
The fake punt got Jacksonville to their own 46-yard line and Toby Gerhart seized the momentum with a 10-yard run over the right side on first down.
But Baltimore’s defense stiffened there and forced an actual punt from Anger on fourth-and-10.
