The Miami Heat are interested in acquiring Lance Stephenson from the Charlotte Hornets, according to NBA analyst Chris Broussard.

More from Charlotte Hornets

Lance Stephenson rumors have been flying around over the past few days after Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Charlotte Hornets were listening to trade offers for him.

More teams have been rumored to have interest in Stephenson each day, and now the Miami Heat can be added onto the list of potential suitors.

According to a report from NBA analyst Chris Broussard, the Heat have inquired about the availability of Stephenson. He made a big name for himself during last year’s NBA playoffs against the Heat and LeBron James with his on-court antics to try to get in James’ head.

Miami had a rough breakup with James this past offseason, and acquiring Stephenson would be something that the fan base would likely love to see to get back at James.

While Broussard does say that the Heat don’t have much to offer, they could offer a deal surrounding pick and Shabazz Napier. They also have players like Shawne Williams, Mario Chalmers, and Norris Cole that could interest Charlotte.

It would certainly be strange to see Stephenson in a Heat jersey, but it would be a smart move for Miami. They know that Dwyane Wade doesn’t have too much time left in his career, and Stephenson would be a perfect addition to help give him some rest. That being said, there are plenty of other teams out there that will be interested in acquiring Stephenson as well.

Miami is going to be active looking to improve their roster, but they would have to be willing to trade Napier to get anything done. Charlotte might not have any interest in acquiring Napier, but first round picks are always intriguing for a team. Expect to hear a lot more Stephenson rumors over the next week or two.
