Get game previews and predictions for all the NFL week 16 match ups with the Armchair Quarterback’s Guide to the NFL.

Welcome to the week 16 edition of the Armchair Quarterback’s Guide to the NFL. It’s hard to believe that there are only two weeks of the regular season left. There are several important matchups this week with major playoff implications. If you’re new to this post you’ll find game by game previews and predictions for every match up on that week’s NFL schedule. The predictions will largely be a result of looking at how the teams match up in terms of their strengths and weaknesses. I’ll also sometimes look at how the teams have fared in previous head to head matchups and will even occasionally mix in a little of my own gut instinct (which can be dangerous).

Last week was another solid week for the Armchair QB picks getting eleven games correct and only missing on five. That brings my overall record on the season to 145-78-1. That’s on par or better than many of the other so called “experts” that make weekly game predictions. I need to do really well these final two weeks in order to get my season average up to 2/3 of the games being correct. That means I’m striving to guess 25 of the remaining 32 games correct to meet my goal. It’s going to be tough, but I feel pretty good about the picks this week.

Speaking of this week’s picks, why in the world would they schedule Tennessee and Jacksonville on a national prime time game this late in the season? Did people actually think it would be a game of interest to anyone outside of those cities? It just doesn’t make sense to me. On the other hand, there are some great games that will have a major effect on the playoffs too. Let’s go ahead and get to this week’s picks starting with the Thursday night game.
