As we approach the beginning of the new year that is known as 2015, we’re reminded that we once again have a very exciting slate of college football bowl games to take in, as is usually the case around New Year’s Day.
This year, however, the slate will not only be different for New Year’s, but a little more important as well.
This is the first season of the College Football Playoff, and while the national champion will be determined in Dallas on Jan. 12, the semifinal games will be taking place on New Year’s Day with the Rose and Sugar Bowl contests. The winners of these traditional bowls will move on to play for the national championship.
With the movement and the new format, that means that there are now some more exciting games on New Year’s Eve that we get to take in, such as the Peach and Orange Bowl. Some of the best teams in the country will be going against one another before the ball drops in New York City.
