Rajon Rondo Trade Rumors: Lakers Offer Steve Nash, Multiple Picks

According to reports, the Los Angeles Lakers have made a trade offer to the Boston Celtics for NBA star point guard Rajon Rondo.

Rajon Rondo is being shopped heavily by the Boston Celtics, as general manager Danny Ainge appears to have given up on the idea of keeping him and trying to pair another star alongside him.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams that have shown interest in acquiring him over the past 24 hours, and it appears that they have made a trade offer.

Boston is going to be looking for picks, young players, and expiring deals in any trade involving Rondo, and that is exactly what L.A. is offering.

The Lakers are reportedly starting off with an offer of Steve Nash’s expiring deal, and multiple draft picks.

That offer may not look too great, but depending on how many picks, the Celtics might just be interested.

Needless to say, this would be a bit of an awkward trade partnership between two big rivals.

Rondo heading to Los Angeles would immediately help take the Lakers a step forward, and that is not something that the Celtics want to do. That being said, if they could get back a good return for him they would be more than happy to pull the trigger on a deal.

It’s certainly going to be an intriguing next couple of weeks as more rumors and reports continue to come out about Rondo. Boston isn’t looking to make a quick trade, as they would rather start a bidding war and get a larger return. That being said, something may end up happening soon as teams are already being very aggressive in their pursuit of Rondo.

Multiple teams believe that he is their missing piece, and can take them to the next level. Expect to see a flurry rumors surrounding Rondo continually for awhile.
