You know and love Nick Offerman for his portrayal as Ron Swanson on Parks & Recreation and he gave a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on the Tonight Show that was basically like Ron himself reading the famous tale.
Now he may be the closest thing to the real life version of the Grinch and he definitely isn’t spreading Christmas cheer with this reading, but he is spreading the truth in this updated version of the story parents will be reading to their children on Christmas Eve.
Check out the clip below. Offerman begins the reading at the 40 second mark.
Typical Offerman.
Great as always. And seriously, what the hell is a thistle?! To be honest, I don’t think anyone knows what it is. Scholars maintain they lost the meaning of this word hundreds of years ago.
Apparently, reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas is making the rounds today as Frank Caliendo gave his interpretation of the poem on ESPN’s Mike and Mike radio show on Friday morning in the voice of his various ESPN personalities, which was also pretty special, just in a different class, because no one can trump Offerman, not in my eyes at least.
You can watch more of Offerman as Swanson, one of the best characters on television today, in the final season of Parks & Rec which begins on Jan. 13 and their series finale airs on Feb. 24 on NBC.
