The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded NBA veteran Corey Brewer to the Houston Rockets.

More from Houston Rockets

Corey Brewer has been mentioned in quite a few trade rumors this season so far, and he has finally been traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Timberwolves have traded Brewer to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Troy Daniels.

This is certainly a big move for Houston, as they have been looking to bring in more depth all season. He will immediately take their bench to a new level and will make a major difference both offensively and defensively. Brewer will also be a great veteran presence off of the bench to help grow the young players on the roster.

Brewer has averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists so far this season in 24 games and 16 starts.

Minnesota is jumping head first into this new rebuilding process, and Brewer is likely more than happy to get out of town. He will be joining a Houston team that has a legitimate chance to make a run in the Western Conference playoffs, and he will be asked to be a big part of that run.

Obviously this isn’t the trade that Timberwolves fans were hoping for, as Troy Daniels isn’t considered a major difference maker. It does save them some money and Daniels can play a small role off of the bench as a three-point shooter. Brewer was a very talented player, but his trade value wasn’t high enough to bring in anything of major value.

All of that being said, this is a huge move for the Rockets and takes them a major step forward as they look to make a run in the Western Conference.
