Troy Polamalu Not Expected to Play Sunday; James Harrison Returns
The Pittsburgh Steelers are fighting for their playoff lives against Kansas City this Sunday, but they could see a few changes on the defensive side of the ball.
The Pittsburgh Steelers currently stand at 9-5 and are in good position to win the NFC North and advance to the playoffs. This weekend’s game will not be easy, however, with the Kansas City Chiefs coming to town.
For the crucial AFC matchup, the Steelers may have to once again find someone to step up in the secondary.
According to Gerry Dulac, who covers the Steelers for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the team will be without safety Troy Polamalu. There is some good news, however, with James Harrison expected to return.
Polamalu has been sidelined with a knee injury and many haven wondered if this is it for the long-time Pittsburgh favorite.
While Polamalu’s absence isn’t good news for the Steelers, they do get Harrison back to add to their pass rush against Alex Smith this week. The Steelers are towards the bottom of the league with just 24 sacks as a team this season and can use all the help they can get in improving their pass rush. A healthy James Harrison should do just that.
Hopefully for the Steelers, they will have Polamalu back for next weeks game against the Cincinnati Bengals which could decide the winner of the AFC North.
