Peyton Manning has been deemed questionable on the Denver Broncos official injury report for Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals.

More from Denver Broncos

On Thursday afternoon Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning left practice after stretching to receive treatment on his injured thigh.

It was a little odd considering Manning came out to participate, only to return to the locker room just minutes later. Little was known about the Broncos plan and if Manning was scheduled to receive treatment at practice or if it was a sign of something more.

Perhaps the answer was made a bit more clear today as the Denver Broncos have officially listed Peyton Manning as questionable for their Monday Night Football contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Manning left Week 15’s tilt against the San Diego Chargers just moments before the first half concluded after he suffered a nasty hit while attempting a block. At the time the Denver Broncos stated it was due to Manning needing fluids as he was battling an illness. It’s not known if he’s still dealing with such or if it’s the thigh which is continuing to give Peyton Manning trouble, though his status against the Bengals does appear to be up in the air currently.

For what it’s worth, Peyton Manning did state the thigh injury was causing him some issues during the second half of the Broncos Week 15 contest though has kept relatively quiet in the days since.

“I was in some discomfort and had some limitations, so obviously if you feel like you can’t do your job and you can’t move to protect yourself, you’re going to hurt the team,” Manning said Sunday, according to The Denver Post. “I felt I got a little relief there at halftime and was able to go the second half.”

Understandably the Denver Broncos want to be cautious with their franchise quarterback and don’t want to risk any further injury to Peyton Manning with the postseason right around the corner.

If Manning can’t play, backup quarterback Brock Osweiler would make the start though it’s hard to imagine Peyton sitting out considering the importance of the game in regards to playoff home field seeding.
