LeSean McCoy put the Eagles on the board late in the first quarter with a run off right tackle to give Philadelphia a 7-3 lead over Washington who booted a field goal after a fumble from Mark Sanchez.
McCoy led the NFL in rushing last season but he hasn’t been a frequent visitor to the end zone this year as he only had four touchdowns prior to finding paydirt on this run.
And then he had a very interesting celebration after putting the Eagles on the board.
He has eight carries for 32 yards and a touchdown and one 18-yard reception for the Eagles who likely need to win out to have a chance at the playoffs, but McCoy’s touchdown didn’t result in the Eagles holding a lead for very long.
On the ensuing possession Washington drove 80 yards in three plays, including a 51-yard reception from former Eagle, DeSean Jackson, which led to Alfred Morris scoring a touchdown one play later from 28 yards out to retake the lead at 10-7.
You can watch the final three quarters of this NFC East tile between McCoy’s Eagles and Robert Griffin III’s Redskins on the NFL Network.
