The Cleveland Browns are reportedly interested in Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Marcus Mariota is the hottest quarterback name that is expected to come out in the 2015 NFL Draft, and there are plenty of teams out there that are interested in him. According to a report, the Cleveland Browns are one of those teams that could be interested in him.

This makes things extremely interesting due to the fact that they drafted Johnny Manziel in last year’s NFL draft, and just began starting him over Brian Hoyer. It suggests that they aren’t even close to being sold on the idea that Manziel could be the starting quarterback of the future. Mariota is a solid player, but there are some question marks surrounding him as well.

Oregon has had a great season this year and is in the college football playoffs, with Mariota being by far the biggest reason that they are in this position. He has thrown for 3,783 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.

It will be very intriguing to see where he ends up, and whether or not he is able to live up to the hype that is surrounding him. The Ducks have a very pass-heavy offense, which has allowed him to boost up his numbers. His lack of turnovers is a very big positive, and he also has excellent athleticism to make plays with his legs if he needs to.

When everything is said and done, it would be very dangerous for the Browns to go ahead and make a move to acquire him. They don’t want to cause a rift between Manziel and Mariota, and both quarterbacks have their flaws and could end up being nothing. Don’t expect to see Mariota end up with the Browns.
