Sammy Watkins Hauls In An Easy Deep Score (Video)
By Phil Watson
NFL receivers are rarely as open in the end zone as Sammy Watkins was for the Buffalo Bills against the Oakland Raiders in the first quarter on Sunday.
Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Sammy Watkins has had a very solid campaign.
The kid from Clemson came into Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders with 59 receptions, 850 yards and five touchdowns this season.
With the Bills just on the Oakland side of midfield early in the game at O.co Coliseum, Buffalo quarterback Kyle Orton might not have believed his eyes when he lofted the ball downfield toward Watkins.
Safety Usama Young may have taken the worst angle ever to stop the play, but on the other hand, if Watkins had been six or seven yards further, man, Young was all over that.

Buffalo (8-6) got some help in its quest for its first playoff berth since 1999—the longest active drought in the NFL—when the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Houston Texans earlier Sunday.
And the Bills got some more help when the Raiders (2-12) seemed a little unsure of the whole “cover the receiver” concept.
Unless “let the other team’s No. 1 receiver do whatever the heck he wants to” was part of this week’s defensive game plan for Oakland.
Given how the Raiders’ season has gone, this is not a possibility that can be completely ruled out.
