7) AFC South

Week 16 wasn’t exactly a banner week for the AFC South. Aside from the fact that the NFC South has been a train wreck of epic proportions, the AFC South has been kept out of the doldrums by the performance of the Indianapolis Colts this season. However, Andrew Luck and company were unceremoniously blasted by the Dallas Cowboys this week, and while the Colts are still a 10-win team, they certainly did not look the part on Sunday in Arlington.

Still, Houston and Jacksonville both secured wins (even with Jacksonville or Tennessee assured of a victory), and that is a minor bright spot on the radar. The Texans have a terrifying defense, led by potential MVP candidate J.J. Watt, and they are to be taken seriously, but both the Jaguars and Titans are solidly among the bottom-five teams in the NFL, and the division must be punished as a result.

I believe it is fair to say that a “normal” season would boast a division similar to the AFC South as the worst in football, and tells you all that you need to know.
