NFL Playoff Picture: Seattle Seahawks Clinch No. 1 Seed in NFC
By Josh Hill
The Seattle Seahawks needed to win out this season to clinch the No. 1 seed, and that’s exactly what they did against the St. Louis Rams.
After a season in which the defending Super Bowl champs looked vulnerable at times, the Seattle Seahawks have morphed from mortal into heavy metal as the NFL playoffs are set to begin. The playoffs will kick off next week but the Seahawks will not be playing — at least not for another week.

The Seahawks needed a win against the St. Louis Rams to clinch the No. 1 see and home field advantage throughout the postseason and that’s exactly what they did. It was a rough start to the game, but that was reflective of the Seahawks season which also got off to a rough stat but has nevertheless ended in a trip to the postseason as the No. 1 seed.
Last season that No. 1 seed was critical to the Seahawks dominating in the playoffs, as the Legion of Boom fed off the electric energy in front of the 12th Man and that’s going to be hard to pay against this season as well.
Seattle looks like they’ll be playing the lowest remaining seed when the NFC Divisional Round rolls around in two weeks, but it doesn’t matter who that is as they’ll be walking into a hornets nest that ate opponents alive last season and is looking to again this postseason.
