In an interview at the Sugar Bowl press conference Monday, Lane Kiffin made the statement that he should pay for the opportunity to coach and learn under Nick Saban. Kiffin has often times found himself as a polarizing figure in college sports and in particular in the SEC. After leaving the University of Tennessee high and dry back in 2010 the coach now finds himself as an assistant at one of the nation’s best programs in the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kiffin who opts to take a bit more of a humble approach than many of us envision him takes a very grateful stance in saying this:
"“It’s been great. I should pay him for this opportunity, to be able to come in and learn from him. There’s a lot of really good coaches, but I don’t think there’s many coaches that coach coaches like he does every day. You’re learning while he’s doing everything and that’s been awesome.”"
Well I am not sure what to think about Kiffin after this but I can only imagine that for most Alabama fans they may agree that he should not be paid if the Crimson Tide fail to bring home another national championship to add to their highly touted and respected trophy case.
