After trailing 16-0 at halftime and needing 12 points in four minutes to avoid an upset loss, Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks cemented themselves in football lore with an incredible 28-22 win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game.

Wilson threw four interceptions on the afternoon and it was looking like the loss would fall squarely at his feet, so he did the one thing that he needed to do ignored to avoid that scrutiny — he won the game single handedly.

After running in a touchdown that gave the Seahawks a chance to take the lead, Wilson led two more masterful drives that have once again propelled the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.

Wilson was so overcome by emotions after it was all over, that he could’t stop crying in his postgame interview with Erin Andrews on FOX.

You can’t blame Wilson at all for this reaction, as he’s overcome so much in his life that it’s incredible to see where he’s arrived at in his life and career. The man is an NFL legend in just the third season of a career no one though should have happened. Wilson was too short to be a quarterback and was so undersized that his career int he NFL wasn’t thought to be much.

Yet here he is three years later, with one Super Bowl ring on his finger and another soon to come. If he indeed wins another Super Bowl and leads the first back-to-back campaign since John Elway did in the late 1990s, we know which fingers Wilson will proudly put those Super Bowl rings on.
