Sylvester Stallone poses with fans who were re-creating a scene from ‘Rocky’.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I grew up watching all the Rocky movies. The original one may have been made 20 years before I was born, but that didn’t make any difference in my house.

I loved each and every one of the movies, even the fifth installment — which was questionable at best. I often day dreamed about re-creating some scenes from the movies, mostly daydreaming about becoming heavyweight champion of the world, but there were a number of other unlikely scenarios I replayed in my head over and over.

For example, having a life-like statue unveiled at a big ceremony and having a talking 80’s robot. Everyone had their own favorite Rocky scene, but I doubt anyone can deny that the most iconic scene from any of the movies was where Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) runs up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, raises his arms and jumps up in the air triumphantly.

Now, I may never have a life-like statue unveiled in my honor, I probably won’t become heavyweight champion of the world (Unless I take up boxing, put on 100 pounds…and turn out to be amazing at the sport), but one thing that I always thought was very possible in my future was recreating the Rocky II ‘steps’ scene.

Now, even if I do manage to get myself to Philadelphia, find the Museum of Art and haul my lazy ass up those steps, it won’t be nearly as cool as when this group of friends did it.

Peter Rowe and two friends were the lucky guys who had a chance encounter in Philadelphia. Amazing. The one day that you and your buddies run up the infamous rocky steps, the champ himself, Rocky Balboa is walking up at the same time. Sylvester Stallone reportedly called out to the trio of friends to get their attention.

"“Hey guys, you’re too fast for me”- Sylvester Stallone"

I’m not sure how they didn’t die of shock right then and there. 68-year-old Stallone took the time to pose for a selfie and have a chat with the young guys who have the best “You’ll never guess who I saw on the Rocky steps” story ever.

"“What are the chances of meeting him, that celebrity, right there?” Rowe said."

It’s always nice to see celebrities having a joke and a laugh with fans, but this is hilarious for the timing of the event. Peter Rowe and his two friends will have a story for life, and my undying jealousy will live on for quite some time.
