D’Qwell Jackson says Deflategate didn’t change outcome of game

Indianapolis Colts veteran linebacker D’Qwell Jackson made comments on the entire New England Patriots “deflate-gate” situation.

D’Qwell Jackson intercepted Tom Brady in the first half of the AFC Championship Game to help give the Indianapolis Colts some life, but that is also when the Colts’ equipment manager found that the New England Patriots’ footballs felt deflated.

Since then, the NFL has found that 11 of the Patriots’ 12 game balls were deflated by two PSI (pounds per square inch), and there is an ongoing investigation to find out how that happened. There have been differing opinions as to who could be involved, but nothing has been publicly released about the investigation.

Jackson decided to talk about the situation, and mentioned this week that he had no idea the football was deflated like original reports had stated. Not only that, but Jackson says that the balls the Patriots were using were apparently removed by officials far sooner than it has been reported.

Something else Jackson said is that the deflated balls didn’t determine the outcome of the game.

"“It wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the game. They outplayed us. We didn’t match their intensity. I don’t feel slighted at all personally. They created turnovers, they ran the ball on us. They won that game because of their intensity, not the pressure of a football.”"

While even Colts players are saying that the footballs didn’t change the outcome of the game, fans are still hoping and praying for a vacated win. It has gotten to the point of ridiculousness, but hardcore fans are always going to hang on to any strand of hope that they can find.

With that being said, the Patriots are going to be punished if they are found guilty of knowingly altering the game balls. If it is found that Brady or Belichick had previous knowledge of the situation or participated in any way, then it wouldn’t be surprising to see some type of suspension be handed down.

On the other hand, if no information is found on who had knowledge of the situation, the penalty will likely be a loss of a draft pick and a fine.
