Yankees GM Brian Cashman reportedly had a creative way to try and hush his mistress
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman apparently went all out to try and make sure a former mistress of his kept her mouth closed about their affair, even going so far as to potentially have her committed.
According to the New York Post, Cashman is now being sued by his former mistress, Louise Meanwell, who claims that the Yankees executive hacked into her e-mail account and started the process of preventing her from letting the cat out of the bag.
Cashman was apparently so adamant about getting Meanwell out of the picture that he involved her mother and tried to have her committed, the lawsuit alleges.
“The intent of Cashman’s call to Meanwell’s mother was an attempt to silence and or discredit Meanwell, to wit Cashman in concert with others attempted to induce Meanwell’s mother to assist in having Meanwell falsely committed to a psychiatric facility,” court papers say.
The Post states that Meanwell and Cashman had a 10-month relationship with one another, and as is the case with a lot of affairs, she was of the belief that Cashman was leaving his wife to be with her.
Now for the real kicker in all of this: Meanwell was arrested in 2012 for stalking and extortion, so take that as you will.
