Nate Robinson is waiting for a team to sign him, but that team won’t be the Miami Heat.

The future of Nate Robinson looks uncertain at the moment, but the only uncertain thing about it is where he’ll play. As far as returning to an NBA court this season, it’s a foregone conclusion that the journeyman will land with someone, the only question is who?

Robinson will likely land with a contending team, as he’s proven to be invaluable to the bench of a team in the postseason. He even helped a Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls team put up a fight against the Miami Heat a few years ago and has been a part of a few different playoff runs in his career.

Robinson isn’t just waiting around for phone calls though, as he’s putting them out himself. He recently called up the Miami Heat — who are still in need of some point guard help — but the reception wasn’t all that warm.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Miami Heat didn’t respond to Robinson’s inquiry about possibly signing with the team which pretty much takes them out of the running to acquire him.

Miami may not need Robinson, but not having a veteran of his stature and talent in the postseason is something that prevented the Heat from winning a title last year. Miami ended up losing the NBA Finals and then LeBron James as he bolted to Cleveland where he now seems to finally be turning things around.

Robinson would come off the bench in Miami — and mostly anywhere else he went — but he’s established over his career how dominant he can be. Robinson is the type of player that cab come in and change games for a team in big ways for such a little man.

After all, he won the Slam Dunk contest how many times and has been in it more than others. Robinson is a true warrior but he won’t be joining the Heat this season which may end up being a decision they regret — especially if they straight up screened his call and never got back to him.
