TCU basketball coach Trent Johnson was not happy with West Virginia’s celebration

No. 18 West Virginia and TCU played a classic in Morgantown Saturday. TCU gave West Virginia a fight that went all the way to overtime that saw TCU celebrating what they thought was a 85-84 victory as time expired. However, the refs ruled that West Virginia guard Jevon Carter was fouled with 0.9 seconds remaining and he would get two free throws for a chance at the win.

Carter sank both and West Virginia would go onto win. Carter stood there with his arms extended in the air and his team carried him off the court.

TCU coach Trent Johnson who was visibly upset would not have any part of the West Virginia celebration. It appears that Johnson tries to go out to say something to Carter before he was hoisted up by his teammates.

Luckily, a TCU assistant stepped in and smartly pulled Johnson away as fans stormed the court. It was a situation that could have turned out a lot uglier than what it was. The celebrations further continued after as Carter was carried off the court and pumped his fist in the air.

It was one of the wildest games thus far this season and the ending is sure to spur the rivalry between the two teams even more.

Give credit to West Virginia coach Bob Huggins for waiting around for Johnson and still shaking his hand after Johnson tried storming at one of his players.
