It looks as if we might have a new favorite to win the Royal Rumble on Sunday with the likely addition of The Rock

Over the course of the past 24 hours, the landscape of the WWE Royal Rumble drastically changed with one photo taken from The Rock, sitting in Philadelphia, the site of Sunday night’s event.

When you look at the grand scheme of it all, the only thing really for The Rock to do on Sunday night is to be a participant in the Royal Rumble match, as crazy as that might sound to some people. But, could he actually win the whole thing?

Well according to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, that might indeed be the case.

According to the two, there is a good chance that The Rock will win the 30-man match and once again headline the biggest show of them all, WrestleMania.

"Meltzer says, as once thought, The Rock and Triple H were slated at one point for a match at WrestleMania 31. With Sting in the equation with The Authority, it appears that match is off the tables. With that said, the two predict is Rock is in the Royal Rumble match itself, he is likely to win and headline the main event in Santa Clara, California March 29."

Wow! Talk about your last-minute stunners, huh?

However, when you think about it, it’s not really all that far-fetched. Early last year it was reported that Vince McMahon was sold on the idea of having The Rock and Brock Lesnar main event WrestleMania 31 for the title, an idea that Triple H is not a very big fan of. Hunter would rather see Roman Reigns in that challenger spot, and it’s appeared that’s what they have been building up for months now.

However, plans change. Or, has this been the plan all along and they’ve just been really good at keeping this a secret?
