Terminator: Genisys star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been named as the Celebrity Inductee in the 2015 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame.

Whether it is through the many years he spent in the entertainment industry, or his time as the Governor of the State of California, there are not many people in this world who have not heard the name Arnold Schwarzenegger.

If you are a wrestling fan, there is a good chance that you know this name for an entirely different reason. It is because of those reasons that Arnold Schwarzenegger has earned his latest honor.

Just a little while ago, WWE announced that Arnold would be joining the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in the Class of 2015, which is set to be inducted during WrestleMania 31 weekend in Santa Clara, California.

Arnold’s relationship with professional wrestling goes back further than some current WWE fans have been alive. Schwarzenegger is close personal friends with many WWE Superstars like “Superstar” Billy Graham and Jesse “The Body” Ventura.

He formed an even stronger bond with WWE Legend Bruno Sammartino, of whom Schwarzenegger inducted into the 2013 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame on WrestleMania 29 weekend at Madison Square Garden.

Schwarzenegger has been on WWE programming on more than one occasion. If you were tuned into the WWE Network, which you can get for just $9.99 a month, (sorry…we couldn’t resist)  last night prior to the Royal Rumble you caught a glimpse of one of Arnold’s most memorable appearances.

On an episode of SmackDown from 1999, Arnold Schwarzenegger slid a chair into the ring that allowed Stone Cold Steve Austin to nail Triple H with a chair and help The Rock, Shane McMahon, Kane, and Test defeat Degeneration X.

After the match Triple H took exception to the outside interference and proceeded to take a swing at the Terminator. Apparently, he forgot that Arnold was pretty athletic himself as he was quickly able to duck out of the way and deliver the backhand from hell to Triple H, sending him flying to the ground.

As if that wasn’t awesome enough, he proceeded to “Layeth the SmackDown” as The Rock would put it, to Triple H with a series of furiously flying fists.

Schwarzenegger will be joining some pretty amazing celebrities in the WWE Hall of Fame like Pete Rose – whose altercations with Kane will be remembered for quite some time, and celebrities like Mike Tyson and Donald Trump; all of which were featured before the Rumble last night.

Also being inducted into the 2015 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame is “Macho Man” Randy Savage, who will be inducted by “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan. There is no word on who will be inducting Schwarzenegger on this momentous occasion, but we have a feeling we may find out more on tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
