Lil Wayne wants to leave CM Records, take Drake and Nicki with him
By Tony Tran
Lil Wayne is a tiny man who wants a large amount of money.
Lil Wayne is an ambitious man. After demanding that he have severed in his contract with Cash Money Records, $8 million, and the rights to release Tha Carter V, Weezy is now demanding that everything that his name is attached to through his label Young Money.

A pretty bold request considering that also includes the likes of Drake and Nicki Minaj, the label’s biggest artists. He’s pretty much demanding that if he were to leave Cash Money Records, that they stay with him. From TMZ:
"“Drake, Nicki, Christina Milian, and Lil Twist are all signed to Wayne’s label. Mack Maine is also a YME artist, and the label’s president.“Even though Birdman was integral in molding Drake and Nicki’s careers … we’re told Weezy believes the superstars should go with him because their contracts are with YME.“Clouding the issue is the fact … Cash Money has a distribution deal with all of the Young Money artists. Most likely the matter will have to be settled in court, but we’re told Wayne’s intent is clear — he’s not leaving without his crew.”"
This is a lot like when you break up with a someone and you tell your mutual friends expecting them to automatically side with you. Which is goofy. But then again, Lil Wayne is a goofy guy.
Things might just look up for Wayne though. Though Drake has yet to say anything about the matter as of yet, Minaj told Whoo Kid in a recent interview that though she is willing to stick with Wayne, the record label is a big part of her life.
“I am Young Money, and I ride with Wayne on whatever. But Baby has played such a huge role in my mental stability. Baby will call you and text you all day just making you feel good.”
Whatever that means.
No matter what happens, this doesn’t really fair well for Cash Money Records to whom Wayne, Drake, and Minaj are their biggest names. In the ensuing legal battle, expect blood to be shed and the cash to fly.
