The Miami Marlins have agreed on a deal with OF Ichiro Suzuki.

The Miami Marlins announced the signing of their new outfield with this little tweet.

The Marlins have signed Ichiro Suzuki and it is believed to be a one-year deal and he will be the team’s 4th outfielder. The team has a lot of young talent in the outfield with Giancarlo Stanton in right field, Marcell Ozuna n center and Christian Yelich in left. Suzuki will be the first outfielder off of the bench and should get a number of opportunities to get into the game as a pinch hitter.

Suzuki is 41 and has 2844 career hits over his 14 seasons in the league with the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees. He was an All-Star for his first 10 seasons in the league. He had also won a Gold Glove in his first 10 seasons in the league.

The Marlins will get plenty of veteran experience coming off of the bench. He will provide some good at bats for the team.  He still has speed on the bases as well. Last season he stole 15 bases for the Yankees in 143 games. He hit .284 last season. He should be a nice player to plug in from time to time. He should see plenty of action.
