The Australian Open Final on the Men’s side of things is finally set, as Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are set to square off in what looks to be a classic.

After watching the Women’s bracket in the Australian Open get whittled down to just two, the same has happened to the Men’s side of things as an instant classic match has been set up for this year’s Australian Open Final. On Friday, Novak Djokovic made it past Stan Wawrinka 7-6 to advance to the Australian Open Final to face his growing rival Andy Murray.

It’s a match that will be dripping with storylines, as it won’t be the first trip to the Australian Open Final for either Tennis player, but it could be the first where something that hasn’t ever happened in the tournament before finally happens.

Novak Djokovic has been to four Australian Open Finals in his career and won them all, with three of those wins coming in three straight years from 2010-2013. Stan Wawrinka was the defending champion from 2014, which means Djokovic has already conquered some demons before his fifth Australian Open Final.

On the flip side, Andy Murray has been to three Australian Open Final matches and lost all three — twice losing to Djokovic. The first loss came at the hands of Rafael Nadal, but the last two trips Murray has made to the Australian Open Final have ended in defeat at the hands of Novak Djokovic.

It’s the first time since 2013 that either player has made it this far in the tournament and it’s the third time that they’ll be methane up against each other in the Australian Open Final. They already have a healthy rivalry going as the two best male tennis players in the world, and that’s a rivalry that is only going to get richer with this latest matchup at the Australian Open Final.
