Bob Costas calls out Roger Goodell (Video)

NBC asked for a pre-game interview and was declined by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

The NFL and its media partners are supposed to have tightest of relationships. NBC is paying zillions of dollars for the right to broadcast Super Bowl XLIX.

It seems reasonable that with everything going on around the league, Roger Goodell would be willing to chat with Bob Costas. Especially after Goodell said he was available to the media every day during his state of the league address on Friday afternoon.

Goodell declined, and it seems like NBC’s Bob Costas wasn’t too thrilled with that decision.

How long can NFL owners continue to have their commissioner be unwilling to talk to their broadcast partner on Super Bowl Sunday? This is not a good look for the league who continues to have players ask for better player safety.

You do have to love that Costas does not hold his tongue on Goodell. Less established broadcasters might be worried that if they said something as direct about the commissioner of the league they would end up in another profession. Costas does not have that worry.

We here at FanSided would even hire Bob if he became a free agent.
