The Detroit Pistons lost Brandon Jennings for the rest of the season and they’re going to need to possibly trade for a replacement.

With point guard Brandon Jennings lost for the year, the Miami Heat may have a trade chip the Detroit Pistons are interested in acquiring. Detroit, who have been rolling since cutting Josh Smith loose, lost Jennings for the rest of the season and now need to find a point guard option to replace him with.

According to David Mayo of Mlive.com, Norris Cole of the Miami Heat might be of interest to the Pistons when it comes to finding a third point guard to have on roster in order to replace Brandon Jennings.

"They would like someone with NBA experience who “brings something different to the table” than Augustin or Dinwiddie, which is why a tabled trade discussion for Miami’s defensive-minded Norris Cole makes sense"

This is a reference to the trade talks that happened not long ago that involved Danny Granger as a trade kicker to sweeten the deal for the Miami Heat.

John Lucas III is going to be brought in by the Pistons, which seems to nix these trade talks but we can’t totally rule them out entirely. Norris Cole is an asset to the Heat, but they have Shabazz Napier coming of age with the team and they don’t seem to be building for the long term with all the short term contracts they can dump to clear cap space.

Norris Cole on the Pistons is an intriguing idea, but it’s probably not something anyone should hold their breath over.
