National Signing Day 2015: Top 10 recruits with Heisman Trophy potential
National Signing Day is nearly here so let’s look into the crystal ball and see which of the 2015 recruits have the best chance of winning a Heisman Trophy before their college football careers come to an end.
The Heisman Trophy is the greatest individual award for a college football player and outside of winning the national title there is nothing that beats hoisting the bronzed statue.
With National Signing Day approaching there are thousands of incoming recruits who hope to join the fraternity that recently added Marcus Mariota to a group that includes legends like Tim Tebow, Barry Sanders and Herschel Walker, among others.

But from the pool of recruits who will sign their letter of intent on Feb. 4 and begin chasing their dreams at the next level, who are the players who have the best chance at realizing those Heisman hopes?
I identified 10 recruits who have the potential to win a Heisman before their college careers are over and they are chasing their dreams and goals in the NFL. I followed the pattern of Heisman voters who have a proclivity for giving the Trophy to quarterbacks (they’ve won five straight and 13/15) so this list is populated with signal-callers and running backs sprinkled in.
Considering a wide receiver hasn’t won the Heisman since Desmond Howard in 1991 and only one defensive player (Charles Woodson) has won the award, I feel confident limiting it to those two skill positions.
Without further ado, here are the top 10 incoming recruits with Heisman Trophy potential. After reading through the list, please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
