After finding out he had been traded to the Detroit Pistons, Reggie Jackson said he started crying tears of joy

Right before the trade deadline, the Oklahoma City Thunder started making some big moves in order to better their roster for the second half of the season. They ended up acquiring Enes Kanter and Steve Novak from the Utah Jazz as well as Kyle Singler and D.J. Augustin in exchange for Kendrick Perkins. The deal also sent Reggie Jackson to the Pistons.

After Jackson heard the news that he would be playing in Detroit, he tweeted out his tearful response on twitter.

Jackson was reportedly unhappy in OKC, after his minutes and production started diminishing with the return of starting point guard, Russell Westbrook and the acquisition of guard Dion Waiters.

Sending Jackson to the Pistons seems like a bonus for everyone involved. The Thunder now have some key bench players in Steve Novak, D.J. Augustin, Enes Kanter and Kyle Singler. The Pistons now have a starting point guard to fill in for the injured Brandon Jennings in Reggie Jackson. And Jackson himself will see his playing time increase around one of the NBA’s youngest teams with a bright future.

If that’s not a good reason to start crying I don’t know what is. A win-win situation for all involved, which is rare when it comes to trades.

It will be interesting to see how happy Jackson will be once he suits up with a Pistons uniform on. And how happy the Thunder will be once their new assets get on the court next to Durant and Westbrook. But for now, its tears of joy all around.
