Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho surprised Virginia high school girl by showing up to school for Prom date announcement.

Philadelphia Eagles inside linebacker and all-around good guy Sam Acho is a man of his word. Acho, who just completed his third year in the NFL, received a direct message on Instagram from a huge Eagles fan, Hannah Delmonte, asking the professional linebacker if he’d take her to Prom should she secure 2,000 retweets on Twitter of her request.

Already with plans for the week of the Prom, Acho upped the ante, making the necessary number 10,000. Delmonte had no problem gaining the extra 8,000 retweets. It only took a few hours, and the two were inked (through social media agreement) to a Prom date.

Acho was planning to be in Hong Kong the weekend which Delmonte requested his company, but the linebacker acquiesced anyway. In typical NFL glamour, he showed up in press-conference style to Delmonte’s school to announce the agreement.

The linebacker brought with him to Delmonte’s school a custom Eagles No. 15 jersey with the last name of “Prom”.

The jersey was signed by Acho and included a nice note to his prom date. The two took pictures, and the incident became a Twitter phenomenon. Acho joked about never opening a direct message again on social media, but ultimately was quite generous in giving of his time and attention.

Acho, along with brother Sam, is known as a devout Christian, and avid humanitarian. The two share a Twitter account, but also have their own individual accounts. Emmanuel is also a graduate student, after graduating the University of Texas at Austin where he and his brother both starred.

The younger Acho debuted in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, and also played for the Giants in 2013. He was a Pro Football Focus All Pro for his work on special teams in 2014.

He was drafted in the sixth round by Cleveland in 2012, playing in just six games for the Browns. He was traded to Philadelphia for Dion Lewis for Dion Lewis in a draft-day trade.
