William Shatner cannot attend Leonard Nimoy’s funeral
Shatner and Nimoy were the two most prominent cast members of Star Trek as Captain Kirk and Commander Spock.

Nimoy grounded the show in real drama, and prevented seemingly ridiculous situations from descending into pure camp.
In spite of an ensemble cast, the two actors were forever intertwined as the core of the show. So fans will be sad to hear that Shatner will not be able to attend Nimoy’s funeral today.
Shatner tweeted out his apologies.
Today, Shatner has done just as he said, flooding Twitter by answering questions about who Nimoy was as an actor, father and friend.
It is gravely unfortunate that Shatner couldn’t make the funeral, because he missed an opportunity to deliver the eulogy he gave at the end of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Wait … Kirstie Alley was in that movie? Regardless, Leonard Nimoy returns to the stardust from where he came, and the cosmic ballet goes on.
Live long and prosper.
