Robert Flores proved yet again why he’s one of the best SportsCenter anchors with his epic burn of Iggy Azalea.

For years I have been telling anyone who would listen that Robert Flores is the most underrated anchor on SportsCenter and deserving of more screen time and more work at ESPN across their network.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

RoFlo backed up my billing when I woke up on Monday morning to hear his priceless takedown of recording artist Iggy Azalea who is dating Los Angeles Lakers guard, Nick Young.

“And what did we learn? We learned that according to the Lakers’ Nick Young a dolphin recently tried to kill him. So Nick while dolphins are trying to kill you, your girlfriend is trying to kill hip hop. Let’s call it even, OK?”

Burn!

And I am completely in agreement with Flores.

As any good boyfriend should do, Young came to the defense of his lady friend with a series of tweets directed at Flores, including one rather threatening one.

That sounds like fighting words to me.

His job is to talk about sports…and entertain the viewers and he did just that in a humorous fashion. That is his and many other SportsCenter and ESPN personalities’ calling cards and what makes them so entertaining. If anchors didn’t inject their personalities into their scripts then why would we tune in when we could read a box score?

I tried to decode the first half of the sentence but I was unsuccessful, but I can understand why he would have a problem with a person on television saying his girlfriend is so incredibly devoid of talent that she is killing hip hop. I don’t think Flores is the first person to express those feelings about Iggy, and he isn’t going to be the last.

If ESPN starts showing reruns of Being Mary Jane then I’m out, but let’s be real, these sports channels aren’t trying to be like BET, because they’re entertaining.

RoFlo didn’t take the bait and respond to Swaggy P, but did tweet out a sarcastic message that his fans should appreciate.

Kudos to you Mr. Flores.
