Jameis Winston already visiting the Tampa Bay Bucaneers
Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has already begun visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Remember how in the 2014 NFL Draft there were multiple people set to go No. 1 overall to the Houston Texans, including Jadeveon Clowney, Johnny Manziel, and even Blake Bortles at one point?

Well this year’s NFL Draft is nothing like that, and there shouldn’t be a question on who the No. 1 pick should be. The clear-cut favorite, and only person who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should select, is Florida State’s former quarterback Jameis Winston.
With all due respect to Oregon’s former quarterback, Marcus Mariota, and the wonderful career he had, there really is no competition between he and Winston.
During Winston’s two-year stint as the starting quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles he accomplished more in his career than many collegiate athletes accomplish in their lifetime. Winston left Florida State with a number of accolades, including winning the Heisman Trophy, winning a National Championship and getting Florida State into the first College Football Playoff.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, Winston left Florida State with a record of 26-1, only losing his last game of his collegiate career.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers realize Winston’s greatness, and it looks like they are not hiding any secrets as to who they will be selecting with the No. 1 pick. Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith has already signed off on the alleged character issues Winston might have, and it looks like they are getting more comfortable with the quarterback.
Last season the Buccaneers were terrible on offense, only throwing for 206.1 yards per game. Their offense also lead them to a terrible 2-14 record.
With Winston, that all could change in a blink of an eye.
Winston was in Tampa for three days and met with the Buccaneers organization for meetings during the process.
The timing of the situation is really what most people are noticing because most prospects don’t meet with teams until April, but Winston is not like most prospects. The NFL was aware of Winston’s visiting and actually cleared the process for him to do it.
Also, Marcus Mariota is scheduled to visit the Buccaneers sometime in the next month.
