NBA fines Hassan Whiteside and Alex Len for fight
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside and Phoenix Suns center Alex Len got into a scuffle Monday night that resulted in fines for both players.
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside is known as the guy that just wants to get his NBA 2K rating up, but Monday he may have raised his Madden rating Monday night when he tackled Phoenix Suns center Alex Len.
After Hassan Whiteside grabbed the ball and dunked all over Alex Len, Len grabbed Whiteside on the back of his head and tried to shove him down, which Whiteside did not enjoy at all. White got down like an NFL defensive lineman and form tackled Len to the ground. This resulted in easy ejections for both players. On Tuesday, the NBA submitted their fines for both players. Len was fined $20,000 and Whiteside was fined $15,000. Len’s fine obviously more as the instigator of the fight.

As to why Len was so frustrated? Whiteside cleared that up when he spoke to the Palm Beach Post.
“It was about the fourth or fifth time I dunked on him and I feel like he was really frustrated,” Whiteside said. “I shouldn’t have came back and retaliated the way I did because it really hurt my team… but every day is a learning day for me. But that’s what it was– it was just because I just kept dunking on him.”
Whiteside had another double-double on the season when he had 17 points, 10 rebounds as well as two blocked shots in 26 minutes before his ejection. Len had 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Heat won 115-98.
