Adrian Peterson ‘still concerned’ with Vikings return
By Evan Massey
Star running back Adrian Peterson is “still concerned” about returning to the Minnesota Vikings after meeting with the franchise’s brass on Wednesday.
There have been quite a few rumors swirling around so far this offseason surrounding Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson. It seems like he is leaning towards leaving Minnesota, but Vikings brass met with him on Wednesday in an attempt to convince him to return to the team in 2015.
Following the meeting, Peterson still has concerns about returning to Minnesota.
Due to the length of the tweet, it could not be shown in its entirety. Here is what the entire statement from Peterson said.

“I appreciate Rick [Spielman] and Coach [Mike] Zimmer coming down to see me today. We had a great dialogue and they were able to understand where I was coming from and concerns my family and I still have. We respect each other and hopefully the situation can pan out so that everyone involved is content.”
Obviously that is not the type of response that the Vikings were hoping for following the meeting. Peterson is very leery about returning to the franchise that worked alongside the NFL to get him suspended in the first place. He feels betrayed that the Vikings would do that, and betrayal isn’t an easy thing to recover from.
At this point in time, it doesn’t appear that Peterson is going to end up returning to the Vikings. He closed the statement by saying that hopefully things work out so all parties can be happy, but that doesn’t mean that he’s hoping to work things out and return.
Peterson was only able to play in one regular season game last season before getting suspended, but he has been the NFL’s unquestioned best running back. He has run for 10,190 yards and 86 touchdowns on 2,054 carries.
Minnesota would really like to bring Peterson back, especially now that they have found a franchise quarterback. Teddy Bridgewater showed quite a few signs of having that type of potential, and the Vikings are very confident in his ability. Being able to play Peterson alongside of Bridgewater would make things much easier on the young quarterback.
All of that being said, it doesn’t appear that the meeting did all that much for Peterson. It was more of a time for him to vent about why he is frustrated and concerned, but the meeting didn’t change his concerns.
No matter what ends up happening, Peterson will never be forgotten in Minnesota and will go down as one of their best players in franchise history.
