The Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts are currently expected to be the front-runners and make the strongest pushes to sign free agent star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Ndamukong Suh is the hottest name in free agency at this point in time after the Detroit Lions decided not to place the franchise tag on him. There are already teams beginning to line up and show interest in signing him, and at this point in time the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts appear to be the front-runners and teams that will make the strongest pushes to sign Suh.

Needless to say, whoever ends up signing Suh is going to be very happy with their decision. He is the type of player that franchises can build around on the defensive side of the football, and both the Colts and Dolphins have needs on the defensive line. Indianapolis has a lot of cap room and they would offer Suh the best chance to compete for a ring.

During the 2014 season with the Lions, Suh ended up racking up 53 tackles and 8.5 sacks. He may not have put up flashy numbers, but his presence on the line alone forced opponents to change up their offensive game plans.

The report from Yahoo! does mention that the Dolphins will push the fact that the state of Florida does not charge income tax. That would guarantee more money for Suh, but might not be the deciding factor by any stretch of the imagination. If the Colts would be willing to give him the same type of money as the Dolphins, he would likely take the income tax and compete for a championship.

At 28 years of age, this could very well be the last big deal that he will sign in his career. He is without question one of the most dominant players in the NFL, but he has also received a reputation for being a very dirty player.

It will be interesting to keep track of all the rumors that will come up surrounding Suh. The Colts and Dolphins aren’t going to be the last ones to show major interest in Suh, and other teams are going to be willing to make the same type of pushes to sign him as these two teams are.

All of that being said, these are two of the teams to keep an eye on when it comes to Suh. They are both able to give him the type of money that he wants and they both have major needs at the position. Indianapolis seems like a perfect landing spot for Suh if he wants money and to compete for a title, but no one but Suh knows what he truly wants.
