Spike Lee tells Steve Kerr he hasn’t seen good game yet

Spike Lee was at the Warriors-Mavericks game on Friday hoping to see some good NBA action.

Spike Lee is a Knicks fans, so it’s hardly surprising that he hasn’t seen many good games this year. That’s what he told Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr on Friday night when a mic’d up Kerr saw him sitting in the crowd with his Knicks jersey on. Lee was in attendance at the Warriors Mavs game Friday night at Oracle, featuring two of the better teams in the NBA, if not the best in the Warriors.

Lee was wearing an Anthony Mason jersey in his courtside seats Friday night and he briefly spoke to Warriors coach Steve Kerr when he told him that he hasn’t seen a good basketball game all year. That’s what you get when you’re watching the Knicks, at least this year. Fortunately for Lee, he got to see a good game last night. Or, at least, a dominant performance by the Warriors who eventually beat up on the Mavericks  104 to 89. The Mavs kept it close early, but the Warriors put it away in the fourth quarter.

Lee is, of course, the ultimate Knicks fan. He’s continued supporting the team from their worst moments to their best. This year is undoubtedly one of their worst as they toil at 12-48. Lee has been cheering them on all year, but apparently he finally had to get away and watch some contenders.

The Warriors did not disappoint, as MVP hopeful Steph Curry put up 22 points and had seven assists. Klay Thompson put up 16 points. Kerr wasn’t as happy with the offense as he usually is, saying that there were too many silly passes and risky plays. The Warriors also committed 22 turnovers, which led to 14 points for the Mavs. Obviously another reason Kerr wasn’t as happy as he could have been after the win.

But, a win is a win, as they say, and the Warriors ended up doing it in convincing fashion.
