Teams across the NFL will begin constructing their rosters for next season when free agency commences on Tuesday.

Tuesday kicks off the NFL’s free agency period, and sports news stories have been stuffed with such luminaries as Ndamukong Suh, Byron Maxwell and Julius Thomas gathering suitors and making commitments. These moves are given prominence as power-shifting earthquakes that rearrange the entire landscape of the league.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Of course, every year it is the underreported moves that have the greatest impacts for the future. Just last year, Bills safety Jairus Byrd was considered among the top players available in free agency. He endured a sloppy tackling first month with the Saints.

Meanwhile, James Ihedigbo quietly left the Ravens for the Lions and helped turn Detroit’s secondary into a playoff-quality unit.

These players are cut from that mold. They are contributors who are underrepresented either because of strength at their position group, have injury history, or are limited in certain areas.
