Despite a crushing loss in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, Texas head coach Rick Barnes expects to be back next season

While there were some people that didn’t believe they belonged in the first place, the fact of the matter is that the Texas Longhorns were not only let into the NCAA Tournament, but they were given the No. 11 seed and a match up with Butler. While Rick Barnes’ team put up a valiant effort, they ultimately fell short to the Bulldogs, knocking them out early once again.

Speaking of Barnes, with yet another early exit, people are once again beginning to ask the question of whether or not he should continue to lead the basketball program in Austin. Given the program’s downfalls as of late, despite tournament appearances, most are of the belief that he has run his course.

Well, Barnes begs to differ.

After the crushing loss to Butler, Barnes was asked whether or not he will return to the team for the 2015-16 season, and he seems to be of the belief that it’s a no-brainer to bring him back.

Now a lot of people are going to look at that and roll their eyes, but there doesn’t seem to be too many rumblings that he’ll be shown the door. Texas garnering themselves a No. 11 seed in the tourney may have been enough to bring him back for yet another season.
