More from March Madness

Women’s basketball Madness continues Monday, as the top-seeded Maryland Terrapins take on the eighth-seeded Princeton Tigers for the right to move on to the Sweet Sixteen in the Spokane region.

Princeton is not your typical eighth seed; the Tigers are currently undefeated, and it hasn’t all come against Ivy League competition. The Tigers boast impressive victories over Michigan, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest, among others.

But they have yet to face a foe as tough as Maryland. The Terps are another team seemingly incapable of losing, as they are only the third team in the history of women’s college basketball to go undefeated in Big Ten play throughout the season. They are one of the likeliest teams to end up becoming champions; but as we learn each March, anything can happen. Princeton hopes to be that “anything” this year.

A team that hasn’t lost in conference play versus a team that hasn’t lost all year: something’s gotta give.
