NFL announces 2015 compensatory draft picks list
After the additions and subtractions during free agency in 2014, the NFL released the list of compensatory picks for the 2015 NFL Draft at the owner’s meetings in Phoenix.
Every year during free agency, players inevitably move on from old teams to new ones. Whether it’s a superstar or a role player, teams receive compensatory picks in the NFL Draft as a result of the players lost in the process.

Ever wonder how teams ended up with several draft picks in the draft instead of the usual six or seven? It’s the compensatory picks that they receive in return for letting players walk in free agency.
Teams that are successful usually have a good ability at drafting players and letting others walk to receiver more picks.
While compensatory picks depend on the player leaving and their production, teams don’t always get them. Compensatory picks can also not be traded.
If a team loses a quality player but signs one in return, they will most not likely get a pick. The highest round pick a team can receive is in the third round.
With the big moves of last year done and set in stone, the NFL at the owner’s meetings in Phoenix has released the list of compensatory picks that each team will receive.
New England, Kansas City and Cincinnati are the big winners in compensatory picks, with each of the teams receiving a third-round pick.
It was also a good day for the defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks, who received four compensatory picks. The Seahawks will now have 11 draft picks in the 2015 draft to go along with the addition of Jimmy Graham to the roster.
The Broncos also received four compensatory picks as well.
The Arizona Cardinals were awarded the last pick in the draft and now have earned the right to draft Mr. Irrelevant.
