Watch this great pass from Bronson Koenig to Sam Dekker in the Sweet Sixteen

There’s a reason that chemistry plays as big a part in basketball as anything else. You can have all the talent in the world, but if there’s no chemistry, it won’t matter. Just ask the early-season Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, or the first year of the Miami Heat. You’ve got to know your teammates to have any kind of success.

There’s no better indication of great team chemistry that passes like this one, from Wisconsin’s awesomely named Bronson Koenig to teammate Sam Dekker.

If passing is an art, Bronson Koenig is an artist, and that was his masterpiece.

That is a nice pass, and a great follow-through. That kind of chemistry and teamwork is what gives an advantage to teams who have been together a while, like Wisconsin, over teams full of one-and-done players.

And the Badgers needed all the plays like that they could get in this game, as they were locked in a tight Sweet Sixteen battle with fourth-seeded North Carolina. The two teams played close all night (The Badgers were within two points at halftime), and impressive plays like that can literally be the difference between winning and losing such a close game.
