Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl shows us once again what a top notch nice guy he is by granting fan’s wish.

Dave Grohl was approached by a flight attendant and told a heartbreaking story about one of his fans. The flight attendant’s friend is a gigantic Foo Fighters fan, and in 2009 Ken Powell was diagnosed with melanoma cancer. After being told he had cancer Mr. Powell wrote up a bucket list of things to do before he dies.

One thing on the list was to meet his favorite band, the Foo Fighters. Powell attended six concerts around Australia during the band’s tour of the country. He was supposed to meet the band in Perth and fulfill his bucket list but the night the meeting was arranged Mr. Powell was suffering from food poisoning and didn’t attend the concert.

When told of Mr. Powell’s story, Dave Grohl stepped up to the mark once again by accepting the idea to do a photo introduction. In addition to the photo greeting, Dave signed some Foo Fighters merchandise and gifted Mr. Powell VIP tickets to their show in Los Angeles.

Since the gesture from Grohl, Mr. Powell’s daughter, Tara, set up a page on facebook in order to raise money to get her father to the show in LA. In addition to getting her dad to L.A, they plan on writing a significant check to charity.

"“Any money surplus to the fundraiser’s objective will be donated to Melanoma Institute of Australia who have been a big support to me,” – Powell."

If you want to support this great cause you can click on this link and make a donation. They have already reached their 20k goal to get Powell to the show in L.A. Any further donations will be going to the charity.

This is yet another story of the power of the internet, anything can happen when everyone pools together and gives to a tremendous cause. Dave Grohl has to be commended once again for being a stand up guy. He truly is the nicest guy in Rock.
