Louisville’s Terry Rozier nearly breaks his back after scary fall (Video)
Louisville’s Terry Rozier avoided serious injury after he fell headfirst into the stanchion near the end of the NCAA Tournament game against the NC State Wolfpack.
Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals advanced to the Elite Eight after defeating the NC State Wolfpack 75-65 in the Sweet Sixteen. He’s only lost one time in the Sweet Sixteen as a head coach, but despite picking up the win, he nearly lost one of his star players when Terry Rozier nearly broke his back.

The Cardinals went on a run to extend their lead in the closing minutes of the second half against NC State after they trailed the Wolfpack by two at halftime, but near the end of the game Rozier raced across the court but took some contact as he went up for the layup and landed awkwardly.

Thankfully, Rozier got up on his own power and remained in the game until he was taken out with 4.1 seconds remaining and Louisville having the game in hand.
He won’t have much time to rest his ailing back with Louisville having a date in Syracuse on Sunday against the winner of No. 7 Michigan State and No. 3 Oklahoma who play later on Friday night.
Rozier finished with 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds and one sore back as Louisville advances to the Elite Eight.
