A Euro 2016 qualifier abandoned after a Russian goalkeeper was struck by a flare

Despite the fact that one of the goal keepers was hit in the head with an active flare, the match between Monenegro and Russia has resumed.
Original Post A game in group G of the Euro 2016 qualifiers has been abandoned after Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was struck by a flare from the crowd. The atmosphere in the ground was said to be getting out of control when fans from Montenegro were getting over excited and down right out of control.
There will no doubt be serious consequences by the governing bodies of football, as crowd violence and distruptions are often met with harsh penalties. The football association of Montenegro will most likely get a serious fine, while it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they could be forced to play some games behind closed doors. Players getting struck by missiles will be met by zero tolerance. Here is an indication of the seriousness of the situation.
It was completely understandable why the referee called the game off. The safety of fans and players are always the most important thing at sporting events. There will be some serious repercussions for Montenegro following this shocking incident
