Wrestlemania 31: Andre The Giant Battle Royale removed from main card

After being originally scheduled for the main card, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been moved to the Wrestlemania 31 kickoff show.

Wrestlemania 31 is four hours and many would expect that to be enough time for all matches to take place live on the show. With added musical acts and other performances, time for matches on the biggest show of the year is hard to come by.

With Wrestlemania having a two-hour kickoff show on the WWE Network this year, fans will now get to see two matches during the kickoff to Wrestlemania 31 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

In the first hour, the Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Championship will be taking place, and now in the second hour, the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will take place on the network.

The battle royal was originally set to take place on the main card, but it appears that time constraints have pushed it to the kickoff show, because what wrestling fan doesn’t want to miss Kid Ink perform live?

Still, with the added two-hour show on the network, Wrestlemania 31 is essentially six hours instead of four and the added content is great for the wrestling fan.

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will feature wrestlers such as The Miz, Curtis Axel, Ryback, Big Show, Kane, Mark Henry and others fighting it out to outlast the each other and take home the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Trophy.

Last year, Cesaro last eliminated the Big Show to win as he lifted the 500 pound giant over the ropes in an impressive showing.

Who will step up and have their own Wrestlemania moment this year?

For fans that want to watch this match, they now either have to have a ticket or be a subscriber to the WWE Network for just $9.99.
