Things are really starting to heat up in the Western Conference as the playoffs are just around the corner, and Jeff Green is ready to roll.

More from Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies have been riding high all season as they have been behind the Golden State Warriors for the best record in the West, and the San Antonio Spurs are really starting to look more and more like the team we all know as they are only three games behind the Grizzlies for the 2-seed in the West.

While the Grizzlies have the better record, they came into tonight’s game on a two-game losing streak (against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, mind you) while the Spurs are 5-1 in their last six games.

The Spurs took their recent momentum in to today’s game and got a nice lead over Memphis in just the first half. However, Jeff Green and the Grizzlies had the highlight of the half with his poster dunk on San Antonio’s Aron Baynes.

Jeff Green was traded from the Boston Celtics to the Memphis Grizzlies in January, and the forward has taken some time to get comfortable with his new squad. Green was averaging nearly 18 points this year in the time he spent in Boston, and so far he has struggled to get close to that production. In a positive light, though, Green is having his best month in Memphis as he is averaging 14.1 points (43 percent shooting) and 5.1 rebounds in March.

The Grizzlies have lost a lot of the hype they had early in the season – not sure why – but they will have as good of a chance as anyone in the West to make it to the Finals once the playoffs start.
